Easter Holiday is here.

Once again a very busy term, full of many fun activities.

In Numeracy we’ve been busy practicing our numeracy skills, working with:

  • Fractions and Decimals – looking at the relationships between numbers and the various ways of representing fractions and decimals.
  • Money – how to count and make change, using decimals with money, and multiplying and dividing money.
  • Perimeter, Area & Volume – how to find perimeter, area, and volume through different methods of measurement.

As always, we are learning while having fun, either working in small groups or all together as a single big group.

In Literacy we have been focusing on writing stories, students learnt to identify and write about the characters, setting, plot, main idea and supporting details of a story. They also learnt to communicate ideas and information through creative writing for a variety of purposes such as: informing, persuading, influencing, responding, and creating.

In IPC we have been learning about Changes in Matter and Energy – Students have been learning about the basic properties of matter and their physical and chemical changes. We mainly focused on milk as a liquid. We looked at how we can change it from a liquid to a solid by making our own butter. After making butter, we  made our own bread and enjoyed a slice of hot bread with homemade butter. It was delicious, well done year 3 and 4 you did a great job!

We celebrated a few things this term. We celebrated the Holi festival, also known as the "festival of colours", it is an Indian festival celebrated across India where people smear each other with colours and drench each other in water, this took place after school and the kids had a lot of fun.
We had our International Festival which was a great success, every one worked really hard, practising their dances, you all looked amazing. Also a big thank you to all the parents, without you this day would not have been such a big success.
We rounded off our last day with our Easter egg hunt outside on the primary playground. Lastly, I which you all a Happy Easter and a wonderful holiday.
