Welcome to the International School Ghent

International School Ghent is a new school in the city of Ghent, founded on the 30th of November 2011. We provide international education in English mostly for children of expatriates, foreign employees in Belgium and Belgians who have an interest in providing international education to their children. Quality education is our main goal. That is why we teach children using the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).

On the 3rd of September 2012, the first students started attending classes at our school. Our school welcomes children between 3 and 12 years old:

▪          Pre-primary education (3-5)

▪          Primary education (6-12)

In the years to come, a middle school and high school program will be added:

▪          Grades 7 to 12


In cooperation with a local partner school

International School Ghent works in cooperation with a dynamic local partner school De Kleine Icarus (translated The small Icarus). Both schools share premises and services. Thanks to this partnership arrangement, our school is run like a well-established school from its very start in September 2012, including all facilities you might expect from a high quality learning environment.

In the heart of Ghent

International School Ghent is located in the very heart of Ghent, only a few footsteps away from the Citadel Park. Our school building is part of the Ledeganck campus of University College Ghent, which also houses a teacher training department. The school is very easily accessible by public transport and less than 1 km away from the highway entering the city.
